About Danny B

I grew up on the streets of North Jersey during a time when wise guys ran the area. Bookmaking and loan sharking was a way of life back then. I placed my first wager at the age of 12 and won $50.00 on a football game. Instantly, I was attracted to the fast and easy money. I continued to place bets and began working for the local bookmakers until 1979 when I joined the Army at the age of seventeen.

After my tour in the military, I tried my hand at playing baseball in Southern California for an independent ball club. I was very good but not major league material and soon found my way back home to the streets of northern New Jersey.

From 1983 until 1994, I worked for a major Sports Book in New York City and learned from the sharpest odds makers of the time, wining and dining with every wise guy in the tri-state area. In August of 1994, I broke away from my crew and took a position working for a very well known sports handicapper where I excelled and made a name for myself. That new found notoriety earned me a position in 1997 with H.B.O. Sports as a gaming consultant where my knowledge of the industry helped earn Emmy Awards for Jim Lampley, Bryant Gumbel, and producer Matt Marantz.
